Tub-to-Shower Conversion in Delaware, OH

If stepping over a high tub wall has become the worst part of your day, we can fix that in one visit. We remove the old tub and install a low-threshold walk-in shower in the same footprint, measured to fit your bathroom before install day ever arrives.

01 / The Job

What a Conversion Includes

Most Delaware homes we work in still have the original builder tub from the day the house went up. The drain, valve, and walls were never meant to last this long, and the high step-over only gets harder. A conversion replaces the whole wet area, not just the tub, so the plumbing and waterproofing behind the walls are new too.

  • Demo and haul-away: old tub, surround, and fixtures removed and taken with us.
  • New valve and drain: pressure-balanced anti-scald valve, drain realigned to the new base.
  • Solid-surface base: low-threshold entry with a slip-resistant finish.
  • Acrylic wall system: grout-free panels cut to your walls, sealed at every seam.
  • Grab bars on blocking: anchored to lumber inside the wall, placed where you want them.
  • Fixtures and glass: shower head, handheld, controls, and a glass door or curtain setup.

Most conversions land in the $9,000 to $15,000 range installed. Your exact number comes in writing after the design visit, and it does not change because we found something ordinary behind the wall.

02 / Bath Conversions

Bath Conversions, Built Around Easier Access

Around Delaware County, a lot of people search for this work as a "bath conversion," and it is the same job described above: trading a hard-to-use tub for a shower built around easier access. At the design visit we plan the details that make the difference day to day: how low the entry threshold sits, where the grab bars go, whether the bench seat is fixed or folding, and whether the handheld shower reaches the seat comfortably. None of it is an upsell package. It is the same conversion, planned around how you actually bathe.

04 / Questions

Conversion Questions We Hear in Delaware

Will a conversion hurt my home's resale value?+

In a one-bathroom home, keeping a tub is the safer call, and we will say so at the design visit. In homes with two or more baths, a clean walk-in shower in the primary bath is what most Delaware County buyers ask for anyway. We would rather talk you out of the wrong job than sell you one.

How long until I can shower in it?+

The sealant needs a full day to cure, so plan on using it the morning after install day. Everything else, plumbing, glass, fixtures, is finished before we leave.

Can I keep my existing tile or floor?+

Yes. The conversion stays inside the old tub footprint, so your floor and the walls outside the wet area are untouched. If we spot water damage once the tub is out, we show you before doing anything about it, and the written quote process starts over for that piece only.
